One in five residents of Alameda County needs food assistance every day, and 350,000 free meals were served by Open Heart Kitchen in 2015.
In 2016, we grew more than 20,000 pounds of organically-grown produce to feed the poor and homeless in the Tri-Valley.
We teach and empower people to improve their health by growing food for themselves and to donate to local food pantries to feed the needy.
