Saturday, gardeners and volunteers planted several flats of brassicas (mostly kales and collards) and chenopods (beets and chards) that have been sitting in the garden for several weeks. These were placed into the N end of beds K5 and K6. Also planted into these two beds were several varieties of garlic and shallots, all donated by Paula Glogovac, and into K5 three varieties of onion seedlings (about 250 total plants), donated by Wanda Finn.
Also, the Yellow Mangel seedlings were planted into bed CDE3. These are being grown for seed production.
Bed K4 was topped with several inches of donated compost.
Finally, we had a visit by Pete Rudnick.
