As 2016 comes to an end, we’re so thankful for the support we’ve received from you and many others, which enabled us to grow more than 20,000 pounds of organic food for those in need while teaching people hands-on how to grow healthy food for themselves.
Our record-breaking yield is the payoff of more than six years of sustainable farming practices and attending to soil health and fertility. New and returning visitors to our gardens marvel at their beauty, earthy fragrance and abundant life.
We’re also excited to continue growing our Sustainable School Garden Program. Our partnership with Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District now includes ten gardens at eight schools and another garden for Pleasanton’s Village High School’s Vocational Catering program.
Much gratitude goes out to all of our volunteers and supporters for helping make Fertile Groundworks’ gardens the wonderful places they are, which bring people together to appreciate nature and understand our world.
We know that creating sustainable gardens requires building a sustainable financial and business foundation that will allow us to provide these opportunities and community resources into the future. With your help, 2017 will be another great year of partnership, organic gardening and feeding our community!
Peace and abundance,
