Bruce Campbell, an Alameda Master Gardener, has been a pivotal driving force, as well as fellow Master Gardener, Mark Brunell, in establishing momentum supported by key volunteers from Asbury, the Master Gardening community and local volunteers. The goal was to develop an organic garden is built on sustainable agricultural techniques and test the production capacity for various crops – based on their nutrition level, ease of growth, and value to the OHK menu for addressing community hunger.
By autumn 2010, the first crops were being harvested and the rotation was up and running.
